Lindy Johnson has served as CCTA’s Director of External Affairs effective Monday October 2, 2023.
“The Director of External Affairs serves a vital role at CCTA,” CCTA Chair Federal Glover said. “Lindy’s combined experience and skills—attained working in various Contra Costa County agencies—are perfect for what CCTA needs. She brings to CCTA in-depth policy knowledge, high-level communication skills, experience with diverse stakeholders and organizational leadership.”
Before her appointment at CCTA, Lindy was Vice President at the East Bay Leadership Council and Contra Costa Economic Partnership where she managed a portfolio of projects and programs including leading the organization’s policy research and advocacy strategy. There she managed a regional transportation task force dedicated to advancing transportation projects and initiatives. Prior to that, Lindy was a Community Affairs Representative at Central San, leading communication efforts and building public awareness about the district’s initiatives. Lindy also worked for Contra Costa Supervisor Karen Mitchoff as a District Representative. She was the lead policy analyst for important issues, including health, public safety, education and sustainability. Lindy was also a District Representative for then State Senator Mark DeSaulnier where she organized community events and honed her understanding of the complexities of the state budget.
